Belated Halloween and other things.

I've been a slackish blogger. Here are the kiddo's Halloween costumes, and then a random bath tub pic, because it was pretty darn cute.

These are a few of Will's buddies, Ryan and Lars. They go to "bowling daycare" with him, and on this particular day they did a Halloween parade and trick or treated. Bowling daycare is where he hangs out while I bowl in my Chieftans Ladies League. Yes, I am that cool.

A somewhat shy Scooby Doo.

Lil' Punkin. Her head was really just too big for the hat. She gets that from me. Sorry Lydia, and just so you know you'll never look good in hats.

Will thought it was WAY cool to take a bath with his sister. He probably won't think so for very much longer, so I'll enjoy it now.

Rock On

We were invited to a costume party last night, and instructed to come as rock stars. Well, I think we're pretty awesome- so I had to post our pics. I may regret posting these later. Oh wait, I already regret posting them, but I've put in all this time so here they go.

Hey! Isn't that...Travis Barker from Blink 182? Wow, what a hottie.

Oh wait, it's just Sandy.

Whoah! You're probably wondering, when did Amy Winehouse hang out in Alison and Sandy's back yard?!?! No worries, it's not really Amy. Just me.

I realize I'm not emaciated enough to play the part. But hey, what are you gonna do? I did my best with my D.I. outfit and my itchy wig. Good times.

Snowy Sunday

I know it's not unheard of, but snow before Halloween really bugs me. I'd like a few more weeks of balmy fall. It didn't bug Will however, and he had a great time running around in it. I'm busy being jealous of friends who live in warmer climates.

Smith and Morehouse

Sandy planned a fishing trip for us last Sunday, and we drove up to Smith and Morehouse. I've never been there, and I'm glad we went. So pretty! Will was the only one who caught anything- a stick- but we still had good times. We saw some deer, and the autumn colors were amazing.

The only catch of the day- Will's stick. He was pretty excited.

This picture didn't do the fall colors justice- it was way prettier in person.

Sandy trying very hard to catch a fish, he's normally pretty good at this stuff.

Lydia always has a great time doing whatever we are doing.

Not in MY house

Upon the discovery of this beast in my laundry room, I nearly vomited. I quickly covered him with a bowl and waited for Sandy to get home. Does anyone know anything about spiders? What kind is he? All I know, is he was the kind that's too big for me to forget about. I realize this is nothing like Amy's scorpion, but to me...it might as well be. Yuck. Ignore the backdrop of southern Utah. Sandy escorted him out of the house on a page of our Utah calendar.

Will's First Soccer Game

Go Firebirds! Will played his first soccer game today. He had a fun running around and pretending like he knew what was going on. He was disappointed only that his team got orange slices for a snack instead of frosted cookies, like his friend Lars had. My only disappointment was the really, really intense soccer dad on our team who would yell, "Win it! Win it! Win it!" whenever his son got near the ball. I suppose I have to get used to that stuff if Will does any type of team sport in the future- but come on...the kids are 4. Am I right?

Lydia was a fantastic cheerleader, thanks to a super nice 7 year old who dressed her all up.

He's trying to get the ball away from the two kids who actually knew what they were doing. These same two kids scored all the goals. It was pretty comical.

Nielson Reunion

Off to Roosevelt yesterday for the Nielsen Reunion. More specifically, the Uinta Mountains near Roosevelt. The weather was great, and Will got filthy which is a good indication that he had a great time.
In this picture, is an angry Lydia being held by her dad of course. Sandy's grandpa (Grandpa Sandy) is trying to get her to stop to no avail. This is Lydia and Will's great grandpa. Sitting down in the green is Sandy's grandma, and in the white is grandma Nielsen, the kids' great, great grandma.
Evidence of Will's filthy self, hanging out with Lexi, who is Will's 2nd or 3rd cousin. Not sure. He collected 'treasures' (i.e.- garbage) and carried them around in his shirt pocket all day. After we got home, no amount of bathing could get all the dirt out of his hair.

I will not attempt to name all of these relatives, but they were all very nice.

I was there too. Overall, a nice short trip, despite the long drive and a kind of grumpy baby.

Discovery Gateway, and Our New Camera

It was kind of terrifying, but we bought a new camera that seems to be pretty cool. Perhaps a bit too cool, I think the camera's IQ is higher than mine. I took it to the park today for a few random shots, I think they turned out pretty well.

Man, my kids are cute. We also went to Discovery Gateway today with Amy, Olivia, and Makena. Good times! We love hanging out with them when they are in town. Vegas is just too far away :(

Makena (1) and Olivia (3) are perhaps the two cutest girls I know.
(Except for my own, and anyone else who is reading this that has a girl- yours are also the cutest.)

Will totally digs the cash register. It was quite popular today.

My funny little man

Will said some of the funniest things today. Sorry there's not photo to post, but I had to write these down somewhere so I would remember them.

- Rubbing the side of his head he said, "I get a headache right here when I run out of ideas."
- He's been playing tennis with his dad, and he loves to say that he's "getting real easy at tennis."
- He told me tonight that if Sandy ever said I was dumb, he'd "fight him up" for me. Specifically, that he'd poke him in the stomach with a stick.

Man, that kid cracks me up.

Camping and marshmallows

We went camping for the 'Larry Richman Reunion' this past weekend, down in Huntington Canyon. We couldn't keep Will away from the marshmallows. He probably roasted fifty of them. A large majority of the melted mallows ended up on his hands, face, hair and clothing. He did manage to eat a few, but they were covered in ash. Mmm...yummy. (minerals, right?) We're going camping again this weekend for the Huff Reunion. I think I'll pack extra clothes.

Will

The cutest and grumpiest kid you'll ever meet. I realized last night that if he can brush his own teeth, wipe his own butt, change into his own jammies, and navigate pbs.org all by himself, we must be doing something right, even if he can get downright ornery. We love the crap out of him though, and he is a great big brother. He is always saying funny things tries very hard to entertain everyone. Will loves sports, games, puzzles, but most of all he loves his friends and family. We're lucky he's a part of our family!

Blogging. I swore I never would, but I've been sucked in and I don't care who knows it. I'll try and avoid obnoxiousness, but I'll warn you that I obsess about the small things my children do. So read at your own risk. This blog is about Alison, Sandy, Will and Lydia Richman and the everyday things we do that we think are extra special.
