Not in MY house

Upon the discovery of this beast in my laundry room, I nearly vomited. I quickly covered him with a bowl and waited for Sandy to get home. Does anyone know anything about spiders? What kind is he? All I know, is he was the kind that's too big for me to forget about. I realize this is nothing like Amy's scorpion, but to me...it might as well be. Yuck. Ignore the backdrop of southern Utah. Sandy escorted him out of the house on a page of our Utah calendar.

ewwwww....That IS disgusting! I cannot believe you let him live! Now he's gonna make babies! Thanks, now I am gonna have awful dreams about unusually large spiders!

You could try posting your picture on whatsthatbug.com.

If it makes you feel any better, my sister-in-law found a tarantula look alike (5 inches across!) at her house last week. In retrospect since she also lives in Utah, that might not make you feel any better.

Thanks Julie- actually, I already did ask whatsthatbug and am anxiously waiting for my reply. Please tell me your sister-in-law lives in southern Utah!

That is seriously one of the creepiest spiders I have ever seen! There is no way I would have been brave enough to capture it, I would have been stomping the living day lights out of it!!

P.S. I totally forgot you told us you were starting a blog until I saw comments on Brooke's blog. I will have to add you to my list. :)

I think your spider and my scorpion are friends. They are both crawly and make us want to vomit.

Thank you in advance for the nightmares. Be sure to update when you find out what it is!

Is Lehi considered southern Utah? :)

That is a massive spider, I can not believe the size of it, it is the king kong of spiders. Hey Alison, I found that you have a blog, I am a blogger as well, email me and I will give you my address.

Why would Sandy escort it out? That sounds way too hospitable of him. After all, that thing invaded your home. You have every right to torture it. Even if you found it outside, it is a crime to be that disgustingly ugly!

How are you going to make sure that creepy spider doesn't come back in?? Sandy should have escorted him to a place far, far away!

Just so you know, this is Shelly. My comment posted under Hollis' name!

I would like to state, for the record, that this spider was killed after his photo shoot. He was only escorted out of the house in order to take his picture. I had mixed feelings about his death, but in the end- he probably would have made his way back into the house. Adios, large spider- may you have many happy returns in spider heaven.
