Smith and Morehouse

Sandy planned a fishing trip for us last Sunday, and we drove up to Smith and Morehouse. I've never been there, and I'm glad we went. So pretty! Will was the only one who caught anything- a stick- but we still had good times. We saw some deer, and the autumn colors were amazing.

The only catch of the day- Will's stick. He was pretty excited.

This picture didn't do the fall colors justice- it was way prettier in person.

Sandy trying very hard to catch a fish, he's normally pretty good at this stuff.

Lydia always has a great time doing whatever we are doing.

Not in MY house

Upon the discovery of this beast in my laundry room, I nearly vomited. I quickly covered him with a bowl and waited for Sandy to get home. Does anyone know anything about spiders? What kind is he? All I know, is he was the kind that's too big for me to forget about. I realize this is nothing like Amy's scorpion, but to me...it might as well be. Yuck. Ignore the backdrop of southern Utah. Sandy escorted him out of the house on a page of our Utah calendar.

Will's First Soccer Game

Go Firebirds! Will played his first soccer game today. He had a fun running around and pretending like he knew what was going on. He was disappointed only that his team got orange slices for a snack instead of frosted cookies, like his friend Lars had. My only disappointment was the really, really intense soccer dad on our team who would yell, "Win it! Win it! Win it!" whenever his son got near the ball. I suppose I have to get used to that stuff if Will does any type of team sport in the future- but come on...the kids are 4. Am I right?

Lydia was a fantastic cheerleader, thanks to a super nice 7 year old who dressed her all up.

He's trying to get the ball away from the two kids who actually knew what they were doing. These same two kids scored all the goals. It was pretty comical.
